Rail Jobs : Sub Agent Midlands or Hertfordshire £30 - 35,000 + pkg
National Civil Engineering Contactor with a turnover of c£200m operating within the Water, Utilities, Tunnelling, Rail and transport sectors require an experienced Sub-Agent to work within the Rail Division managing multi-disciplinary civil/rail projects.
The Rail division is going from strength to strength with Turnover this year at £10m andprojected turnover for next year is £20m. This growth is based on awarded work, up and coming opportunities and pre-qualifying for various framework contracts. Most importantly they qualified along with 13 others for Network Rail's 5 year Multi-Asset Framework - total spend of £1 billion.
Working on a range of multi-disciplinary civil/rail projects ranging in value from £250k - £10m, typical project value will be £2 - £5m. Main client is Network Rail, however, they do work with LUL and Tubelines. Projects will include: Bride Recon /Refurbishments, Station Refurbishments, embankment stabilisations, DDA Works, platform Extensions (re-gauging), lift installation, Comms works, depot improvements, environmental, off track civils, power supply, troughing routes, signal bases, REBs, level crossing etc.
The Sub Agent will report to a Site Agent and be expected to be responsible for up to £500k worth of work this could be 1 project, or a section of a larger project. They will be responsible for the successful delivery of the smaller projects on time, to specification and to budget. Responsibilities will include managing the Design and Build process, managing the project teams (engineers), planning and programming and client liaison. Higher level skills such as planning programming and budgeting; you will get help from the Site Agent.
The candidate must have Network Rail projects experience to and must have experience working on civil/rail projects. The successful candidate will be from a main contractor background and will be a qualified engineer (HNC or Degree).
Rail offices are based in Walsall or Watford, however, this position is site based and could be based anywhere in England. And so candidates must be prepared to travel and lodge where necessary.
