Rail : Site Manager Chelmsford £38,000 + pkg
Financially stable forward thinking civil engineering main contractor with a turnover in excess of £150m are looking for a Site Manager to work on civil engineering related projects within their Rail division (Network Rail Projects), the Site Manager will be working on a Network Rail Minor Structures Framework throughout the Anglia region, work on the framework consists of : Bridge refurbishments & replacements, tunnels, drainage, earthworks, concrete bases, footbridges, platform extensions, depots and station works, typically projects varying in value from £10k - £500k.
The site manager will report into the Construction Manager and will be responsible for operatives and subcontractors ensuring the successful delivery of the rail projects. Safety will be a top priority as well as forming a positive relationship with Network Rail Site Construction Managers striving to meet and whereever possible exceed client expectations regarding quality, programme and budget.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
* Site teams are effectively deployed and managed
* Work orders are delivered efficiently, on time, within budges and to the agreed quality
* Company profit on the contract is maximized
* That minor works orders are accurately assessed/prices and that subsequent works are properly resourced
* Ensure work is complete inline with the health and safety, quality/Environmental plane
* Produce Work Package Plans WPPs and Task Briefing Sheets TBS
* Delivery of works within programme and budget
* Timely site scoping works and production of Site Inspection Report following receipt of remit form Network Rail
* Working closely with Quantity Surveyors to produce Works Estimates form submission to Network Rail via the Monitor system
* Continuous monitoring of the progress of works orders to ensure contract objectives are being met
* Ensuring that changes to works orders are identified, agreed and effectively managed
The provision of formal reports on progress to the Construction Manager –
Candidate Specification
* CSCS Site Manager Level
* Rail and Network Rail Experience is essential
* The successful candidate would have worked for a contractor delivering Network Rail civil/rail projects at Site Manager / General Foreman / Supervisory level.
* Ideally you will be qualified though experience successfully delivery Network Rail civil engineering projects more important.
* Must possess experience of successfully delivering civil/rail projects such as stations, structures, drainage or bridges ideally for a main contractor.
