Rail : Cross Rail Job: Quantity Surveyor Docklands London £45,000 + pkg
Quantity Surveyor from a heavy civils and major project background required to work on a £500m section of Cross Rail. The project is a major tunnelling section working for a JV of internationally renowned civil engineering contractors.
The successful Quantity Surveyor must have experience working with National Contractors on large Civil Engineering and infrastructure projects, and have had experience of working NEC 3 contract (preferably Option C), have a degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or equiv and ideally be familiar with the Coins accountancy package.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Administer various subcontractors / subconsultants ensuring all is in accordance with the management systems.
• Manage payments and change control with each subcontractor and ensure that all subcontract costs are recoverable and not subsequently disallowed.
• Liaise closely with the procurement department on all commercial matters to be included in subcontracts.
• Compilation of earned value / actual cost comparison and cost projection to completion.
• Registration, notification and evaluation of early warning procedures and compensation events,
• Preparation of monthly payment applications based on actual costs and forecast cost.
• Target movements in respect of compensation events and price adjustment provisions.
• Assist the Commercial Manager in all commercial and financial aspects of the contract.
• Maintenance of the procurement plan and associated commercial procedures relating to subcontractors and suppliers
