Oil and Gas : Chief Engineer Thermal Power North West c£60,000 + Pkg
A Main contractor within the energy and process sector is seeking a Chief Engineer Thermal Power. The role is a senior position in the engineering team. Demonstrated strengths in the management of a technical department and a proven track record in delivering project execution to budget and programme, allied to sound technical knowledge, are essential.
The successful candidate will play a key role in support of the management of the engineering function. Accountabilities will include:
Technical solution provider,
Technical management,
Development of improvement practices,
Sales support,
Estimating,
Recruitment, resource management, training and graduate development.
Suitable candidates will have a strong and successful background in the complete power plant engineering and design (concept to final implementation) for CCGT, biomass, energy from waste, fossil fuel or nuclear markets for the UK, and must have a proven capability to take the lead role for power projects including, but not limited to, systems for fuel handling, combustion, steam-water cycle, utilities, waste stream processing, electrical, piping, boiler and power train equipment, controls and civils.
Candidates will have a strong track record in design, specification, selection and systems integration in the thermal power sector, and a clear understanding of the associated standards, regulatory framework and supply chain.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the role will carry full technical authority for engineering and design assurance in this sector. The successful candidate will also support work winning teams and take a lead role in shaping working practice to ensure best in class engineering delivery. Applicants should be degree qualified and a Chartered Engineer.
