Cross Rail : Cross Rail Job: Quantity Surveyor London £35 - 45,000 + pkg

Quantity Surveyor is sought by an industry leading international civil engineering company to work on land mark civil engineering and transportation projects within London. Typically working on heavy civil projects over the value of £30m, projects could include Railway Station Construction (not minor refurbs), Cross Rail Tunnelling or Portals, Railway Extension projects & Rail Deport New Builds. Reporting to a Senior QS or Commercial Manager you will be responsible for your own subcontract packages within a major project.

The successful Quantity Surveyor must have experience working with National Contractors on large Civil Engineering and infrastructure projects ideally with a Rail interface, and have had experience of working NEC 3 contract (thus have compensation event experience) and have a degree in Quantity Surveying or equiv.


Duties & Responsibilities:


• Administer various subcontractors / subconsultants ensuring all is in accordance with the management systems.
• Manage payments and change control with each subcontractor and ensure that all subcontract costs are recoverable and not subsequently disallowed.
• Liaise closely with the procurement department on all commercial matters to be included in subcontracts.
• Compilation of earned value / actual cost comparison and cost projection to completion.
• Registration, notification and evaluation of early warning procedures and compensation events,
• Preparation of monthly payment applications based on actual costs and forecast cost.
• Target movements in respect of compensation events and price adjustment provisions.
• Assist the Commercial Manager in all commercial and financial aspects of the contract.
• Maintenance of the procurement plan and associated commercial procedures relating to subcontractors and suppliers
